Common mistakes
- Photographing a signature on lined or coloured paper.
- Use plain white paper. Lines survive compression and look like marks on the signature.
- Leaving a grey shadow across the page.
- Clean the scan first: it whitens the paper and darkens the ink.
- Uploading a signature with a lot of empty space around it.
- Crop close to the signature so it fills the box, or it will look tiny on the form.
