Privacy policy
Last updated 17 September 2026
Your files never reach us, because there is no server to send them to. Everything below explains what that means and what little is recorded.
Your files
We do not collect, receive, store, transmit or process your files. Every tool runs inside your browser on your own device. When you close the tab, the file is gone from the page's memory. We never see the file, its name, its contents, or any information inside it such as the location a photo was taken.
What is stored on your device
One item of data is saved in your browser's local storage: your choice of light or dark theme, under the key fp-theme. It never leaves your device and you can clear it by clearing your browser data. We set no tracking cookies of our own.
One more thing is remembered for as long as the tab is open, and forgotten when you close it: that you have already been shown the line about supporting the site, under the keyfp-support-note, so that it is shown once and not again.
So that the tools keep working without a connection, your browser also keeps a copy of this site's own pages and code. That copy contains our files only, never yours: the part that saves it cannot see what you open. Clearing your browser data for this site removes it too.
Server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it records that a page was requested, including the time, the page address, a rough geographic region, and the browser and operating system in use. This is standard traffic logging that happens before any of our code runs, it is used to keep the site working and to spot abuse, and it contains nothing about your files. We do not combine it with anything else or use it to build a profile of you.
Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics library, and there is no tag manager.
Advertising
Adverts on this site come from Google AdSense, and always sit at the bottom of a page under the label "Advertisement". Google's script runs in the page itself only on the About, How this works, Privacy, Terms and Contact pages, none of which open files. There are no adverts on the home page or on the tool pages.
The guide pages that also have a tool on them show their advert inside a sealed frame. The browser treats that frame as a separate website: it cannot see the page around it, your file, or anything you type, and it cannot move the page away from the tool.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising inGoogle's Ads Settings. Google explains how it uses this information inHow Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Children
The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. The site itself collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. If we learn that a child under 13 has emailed us, we delete that conversation.
If you email us
Writing to the address on the contact page is the one way we receive anything about you: your email address and whatever you choose to write. It is used only to reply to you, is never added to a mailing list, and is never shared. Ask and we will delete the conversation. Please do not attach the files you were working on.
Your rights
Data protection rights, such as asking for a copy of your data or asking for it to be deleted, apply to personal data an organisation holds. Apart from any emails you send us, we hold none, so there is nothing else to hand over or delete. If you would like a copy of your emails, their deletion, or confirmation of any of this in writing, write to us and we will reply.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Significant changes will be noted on the home page.
